Moving up a class in motorcycle racing is never just about twisting the throttle a little harder.

When Jäger transitioned from the Ohvale 160cc to the GP-2 190cc, the learning curve was massive.

The 160cc is all about carrying momentum. Because it lacks top-end power, if you brake too hard for a corner, it takes forever to get back up to speed. You learn to ride smooth, flowing lines.

The 190cc changes the game. It brings actual power delivery into the mix, which means it also requires much harsher braking. You can point and shoot a bit more, driving hard out of the apex.

Watching him adapt his riding style to the bigger engine has been fascinating. He had to learn that you can't just throw the 190 into a corner the same way; you have to respect the throttle, or the rear tire will spin and remind you very quickly who is in charge.

For Jamie, the real technician, it also means adjusting the suspension setup to handle the harder braking forces and the aggressive corner exits, while I stand by to help. It’s a completely different puzzle to solve, but seeing him tame the 190 has been one of the highlights of the season.
